Husqvarna Viking 6000 SL – 6460

I am a beginner sewer and have recently had an old machine of my mothers serviced and the cam stack replaced. Upon plugging it in, and pressing the pedal – the bobbin winder goes round and round full throttle, however the needle does not go at all. I have spent hours pulling my hair out, reading manuals etc etc and cannot for the life of me find out how to switch from bobbin winding to sewing on this machine. I feel it is some completely simple switch that I have overlooked, but if not it must be a repair fault. If anyone has any suggestions on how to help would be much appreciated

Do you still have the bobbin on the bobbin winder, that will cause it to happen or when you push the bobbin onto the bobbin winder, a little clip gets push in and only your bobbin winder will run. That clip can get stuck and won’t release. The gear mechanism can get sticky and may not jump back into the normal sewing position. Have a look at and

Does anyone have a picture diagram of the mechanism to the left of the Viking Designer I . I took bobbin apart to clean and then lifted plate on the left to also clean and the silver arm piece came off that holds the auto thread cutter. I need picture to see how to put back together please?

Hi bev57. Please go to the Husqvarna Viking 1 Forum. Start a new topic and add some pictures(1MB) of the parts and I should be able to help you with the assembly and reply with the necessary pictures.
